Poveștile fac parte din cel mai de preț tezaur al umanității. Fie că vorbim de personaje mitologice, de spirite iluminate, de oameni care au dovedit o imensă compasiune pentru ceilalți, de mari conducători sau de cercetători și inventatori geniali, fiecare dintre aceștia întrupează valori particulare pe care le transmitem mai departe generațiilor următoare.

Joseph Campbell, care a studiat mitologiile tuturor culturilor, a ajuns la o concluzie importantă. Ceea ce toate aveau în comun era acel erou care parcurge aceleași etape, întâlnind aceleași obstacole, înfruntând același tip de opoziție, care îl ajută să-și descopere, într-un final, puterea lăuntrică.
În fond, alegerea esențială a fiecăruia este aceea dintre curaj și frică. A fi erou în viața de zi cu zi pleacă de la o întrebare simplă : ALEGI SĂ TRAIEȘTI CU FRICĂ SAU ALEGI SĂ TRĂIEȘTI CU CURAJ? Curajul de a da formă viselor/viziunilor și de a aduce o schimbare în lume, oricât de mică.
Astăzi, de Ziua Națională a Eroilor, ADVU și-a propus să rememoreze, cu ajutorul copiilor din ICHB Colentina, viețile și faptele unor personalități remarcabile din istoria României. Noi am făcut primul pas, acum îi invităm și pe ceilalți elevi să ne împărtășească, într-un video scurt, pe cine aleg ca fiind eroul lor național, împreună cu o poveste succintă a realizărilor sale, menționând ce calitate îi inspiră cel mai mult în acesta/aceasta. În prima săptămână din iunie ne vom aduna cu toții în Aula Magna și vom viziona colajul cu toate înregistrările. No matter if we talk about mythological characters, about enlightened spirits, great leaders, about people with huge compassion for others or about brilliant inventors and scientific researchers, each one of them embodies particular human values that we pass forward to the next generations.

Joseph Campbell, who studied the mythologies of every culture, reached an important conclusion. What
all of these have in common is a hero that passes through the same stages, encountering the same obstacles, fighting the same kind of opposition, only to discover in the end his inner strength.
So above everything else, the fundamental choice one makes in life is in between courage and fear. To be a hero in everyday life begins with a simple choice : DO YOU LIVE WITH FEAR OR DO YOU LIVE WITH COURAGE? The courage to give shape to your vision and bring a change in this world, no matter how small.
Today, on Heroes’ National Day, ADVU wants to recall, with the help of ICHB Colentina’s pupils, the lives and deeds of some remarkable characters from Romanian history.
We made the first step, now it’s up to the rest of young students to share with us, in a short video, who do they choose as their personal hero, mentioning in a brief story about his/her accomplishments, together with the quality they find most inspiring. In the first week of June, we will gather together in Aula Magna and watch a collage with all of the recordings. We are waiting for all your videos on info@advu.ro. Here are the first courageous ones that reminded us about a few of the national heroes.
